Kybern has built the opposite: experiences that sense your physiological state and adapt to it — a responsive, closed loop between a person and the software in front of them. We call this physiological coupling, and we believe it is the foundation for a calmer, more humane generation of computing.
It is a simple idea with large consequences. When software can perceive how a person is actually doing — and respond in kind — it can become calmer, more supportive, and more trustworthy: less a demand on attention, more a partner to it.
Computing should adapt to people — not the other way around.
For decades we have adapted ourselves to our machines: learning their interfaces, meeting their demands, absorbing their interruptions. Kybern exists to help turn that relationship around — toward systems that read the body's own signals and respond to them gently, continuously, and in real time.
We believe the most important interface of the coming decade will not be a screen, a button, or a voice command. It will be the quiet conversation between a person's physiology and the technology around them. Getting that conversation right — making it accurate, calm, and private — is the whole of our work.
